RP SAMPLE:
More footsteps fell against the ground, but this time she did not look up. She was relaxed this time, with her mask back on, where it should be. She simply assumed it was another dancer crossing the doorway on their way to some unimportant place they needed to go. She assumed that until she heard the footsteps coming closer, descending the stairs. She assumed that until she heard a sneeze and a slight pause in the footsteps. He looked up, eyes wide, mascara'd lashes fluttering open and nearly brushing against the rims of the mask. A young man approached her, a silver streak crossing his otherwise simply black mask, a benign smile on his face.
She lifted a hand and brushed her hair behind her ear self-consciously, her fingers brushing against one of the shining purple hoop earrings she wore, tugging at her earlobe uncomfortably. She hated wearing earrings, the uncormfortable feeling of the metal pulling at her skin. He paused beside her and greeted her, and she looked at him again. "Sir." she nodded slowly, her eyes focused, holding his gaze as she acknowledged him. "Truly, it does become tiresome." she agreed to his explanation before turning her eyes away.
She began to walk, slowly, her face forward but her eyes up, staring at the moon as it glowed, very near to the top of the sky, the crest of the earth. So focused was she on the icy sphere that she did not notice an upraised stone in the path in front of her, catching her foot on the miniature mountain. A silent curse as she stumbled, though she quickly regained her balance and dignity, and then a deep red flush spread across her cheeks, visible even below the mask. She lifted the shoe that was hit and examined the scratch in the shining material before shrugging and continuing with exaggerated care. She refused to look at the man who still walked beside her.
"A beautiful night." she murmured, her head shifting ever so slightly as she noticed a flash of white out of the corner of her eye. A great white peacock stood amidst the bushes, speading its wings and its tail feathers impressively. She snorted quietly, a chuckle escaping her. "Ah, Draco always overdid it a little." she said, glancing back at her companion, a grin stretching her bright red lipstick'd lips over shining white teeth. The peacock squawked and plodded towards her, beak open and wings flapping. Her eyes narrowed in amusement as she ran her palm over its head before gently nudging it back off the path, where it flared its tail feathers and stalked off, long legs shaking slightly.
"Funny creatures, those peacocks." she murmured, a smile still dancing in her eyes as she watched it strot away. One slender, dark brown eyebrow raised ever so slightly, she paused and looked at the man beside her for his opinion.
A swift gust of warm wind blew through the courtyard, bouncing off the stone and plants and causing ripples in the various fountains and streams that crossed through it. It ruffled her hair, sending it flying across her face and tangling in her mask. With a huff of annoyance she pulled it back behind her head and disentangled it from the sequins before discreetly sliding her wand out of an invisible pocket at the side of her ribs, flicking the nine and-a-half inch long stick of ebony, which returned her hair to its previous postition and neatness. She felt the warmth spread across her face again.
