HEIGHT: five-foot-five
WEIGHT: one hundred twenty-five
BODY TYPE: athletic, lean

PERSONAL STYLE: Something comfortable, yet not hideous. Usually jeans and some sort of shirt with flats thrown in.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To start off, Nox stands at an acceptable five-foot-five. Sure, she doesn't tower over people and make them quiver beneath her awesome height, but she's quite happy about that actually. What she's even happier about is that she doesn't cross the border into short. It could probably be said that her height is average. Nox's body is towards the athletic side -- not to say that she's extremely buff or that she constantly plays sports, but rather that she is quite lean and does have some muscle tone. She's definitely not stick thin and would actually never choose to be. Nox is very fond of her natural curves and the body she's built up through healthy eating and regular exercise. Nox's favorite type of exercise is plain old running or jogging, so most of the muscles she's built up are in her legs. Her hips are quite large though blend well into her overall form, and her bust is average.
The dark, honey-brown eyes that Nox inherited from her mother can look quite large, though when applied with the right make-up they look more average. When hit with direct light they have a faint golden tinge, whereas in the dark they look almost black. They are her most expressive facial feature, though Nox's entire face is always very expressive in whole. One can always read her emotions on her features, and it's hard for her to hide them (not that she usually puts much effort into trying). Luckily she's had enough practice to be able to keep a straight face when she concentrates hard enough. But on a daily basis when she's not trying to wear a mask, her thoughts and feelings are evident enough.
Nox's lips are full and naturally a matte, light pink. Typically she leaves them bare, but once in awhile she'll add some lip coloring or gloss, usually only a couple shades different from her natural color. Generally Nox doesn't like to wear make-up that draws a lot of attention. For the most part she sticks to neutral colors, and that's only when she actually decides to put make-up on. Actually, Nox doesn't bother with most of it most days and will only wear mascara. On special occasions, particularly nights out, she'll go bold with some eye liner and maybe even a bit of eye shadow. But don't expect it to happen often; Nox isn't into looking excessively primped-up. She naturally has clear skin, so luckily can get away without wearing foundation or concealer for the most part. The hue of her skin is quite fair, with a peaches and cream complexion. It doesn't tan very easily, though to balance that con out it also doesn't burn easily.
Blessed with long, shining soft hair, Nox has never really had to worry about split ends or dryness when it comes to her locks. Her hair is a dark, chocolate brown that leans more to her father as far as genetics go. Both of her parents have dark hair, but her mother's is a few shades lighter. Nox really loves her hair; she is extremely fond of the darkness of it, and is really glad she didn't get saddled with blond. The girl really just doesn't find blond to be attractive. Her hair is wavy, though she never really has a problem with it being frizzy unless it's humid out. She's not the kind of girl that's ashamed of her texture and always tries to straighten it until it resembles a board. Even though she has actually straightened it a few times, she found she didn't like it nearly as much as her natural waves.
When it comes to things to do with her hair, Nox typically leaves it down and lets it fall in whatever direction it feels like. She's not the kind of girl that insists on brushing it every five minutes to make sure it stays in place; if the wind decides to grab hole and blow it in a billion directions, then so what? Nox will settle for simply flattening it into place with a quick brush of her hand. When she decides to do something other than leave it down, Nox's most common choice of style is a simple ponytail, usually quite high on the back of her head. Her other option is to sweep only the top half of it into a small clip. When she's lounging around and relaxing, she might throw it all into a larger clip. Her brows are the same dark color as her hair, and because of the intense shade she keeps them trimmed so they don't take up all the attention on her face.
As for style and clothes and things of that nature, Nox isn't a fashion-obsessed sort of person. One can usually find the girl in jeans, and her shirts come in a wide variety of styles, though most of them are spaghetti-strap tank tops or simple t-shirts. The colors vary according to her mood, though she tends to prefer dark colors. She's not a huge fan of purple so you won't find her wearing a lot of it. Sometimes she'll wear a pair of shorts or a skirt or dress, if it fits the mood of the day. Nox loves shoes, but her feet blister easily so there are many styles she can't get away with wearing, particularly ones with lots of straps; she must settle for only looking at shoes like this. Flats are her favorite, flip-flops her second favorite. Tennis shoes are handy, too, though she mainly just wears them for exercise. Heels are limited to occasions of necessity, like when required at work or at something very formal.
Jewelry isn't something Nox usually wears a lot of. When it comes to picking between gold or silver as far as color, silver is her favorite and therefore most frequently worn. Often she forgets to wear earrings and frankly she's amazed she even still has piercings on her lobes; but when she does wear earrings they tend to be simple, nothing overly large or flashy. Sometimes she'll toss on a ring or bracelet, but mainly forgets on an everyday basis. It actually makes her feel guilty sometimes; many people have given her jewelry pieces as gifts over the year, and most of it all just stays crammed into the top drawer of her dresser. The most expensive piece she owns is a necklace she inherited from her mother, which is a simple chain with a ruby pendant; Nox rarely takes this piece of jewelry off.

CHARACTER DISLIKES: rude people, people mistreating her or her friends, being stuck in a corner, crying, snobs, arrogance, prejudice, spinach, unfair expectations, know-it-alls, idiots, being wrong, being told what to do, having the purebloods rule everything, cooking, not being able to understand something, not being able to make up her mind, cats, manwhores and sluts, arrogant people, drama, diamonds, swimming
GOALS: One of Nox's most important goals is to remain alive and hidden; she spends her time pretending to be a pureblood, and so far it's worked for her. Any day she lives through without getting found out is a victory for her. She also dreams of being able to afford to move out of the country, though at the same time her morals say she should stay and see it through. Another goal is to go back to Montana and be able to see another herd of wild horses (see patronus).
BOGGART: Because of her mother dying in a car crash, car crashes are Nox's greatest fear. When faced with a boggart, it will turn into some form of a gruesome crashed and broken car, sometimes with a dead Nox inside it, or the corpse of someone she cares about.
PATRONUS: The best thing that Nox can remember took place during a vacation to America. The trip was quite special, and the only vacation she's ever really had; it was funded by the inheritance money received when Amelia's father past away. While there, the weather was perfect, and it was on one of these perfectly-weathered days that Nox and her mother went for a hike and witnessed a massive herd of wild horses run by. Nox was about seven at the time, but still remembers it vividly. She can clearly picture the dust stirring up into the sunset, the whinnies of the houses, the ground shaking beneath her, and the sense of awe that she felt.
DEMENTOR: Nox's worst memory, by far, is that of a social worker telling her that her mother was dead. Amelia was killed in a car crash. Thankfully Nox was not actually in the crash, but she's still haunted by the thought of it.
AMORENTIA: hay, because of her love of horses; she loves to read, so she also smells the fresh paper of a new book, mixed with the scent of ink; grass is another, because laying in the grass and relaxing is one of the most peaceful hobbies available to her, plus she loves nature, so the scent of something green is always alluring; then there's the smell of her mother's favorite perfume.
BASIC PERSONALITY: stubborn, outgoing, strong-willed, independent, intelligent, hard-shelled, blunt, patient, feisty

OTHER:
Ariston's parents: Ariston III and Nerezza Blackburne
BLOOD STATUS: Halfblood
HOMETOWN: London, England
CURRENT RESIDENCE: London, England
BIOGRAPHY:
At the time of birth, she was given the name Helen Astra Cole. She was conceived through a one night stand that occurred between Amelia Cole, a Muggle waitress working at a restaurant in London, and Ariston Blackburne, a wizard from a wealthy pureblood family. The night was, of course, kept secret from Ariston's family. The couple never even saw each other again after that. Amelia learned she was pregnant, but chose to keep the knowledge from Ariston and ended up giving birth alone. There were no regrets in her decision to keep the child. Amelia was happy to be a mother, albeit to a very obnoxious baby daughter that insisted on crying at the most unreasonable times. From the start, Helen had trouble sleeping and this problem has stayed with her throughout her life. But as she grew older, the girl became more quiet, and was even shy for a major part of her childhood.
When Helen was six, she showed her first sign of magical. By this time Helen and Amelia were living in the countryside, and had a small pond in their yard. One day Helen ventured to the pond and found a ladybug struggling on the water's surface. Helen was unable to reach it with just her hand, but her strong desire to get the insect out of the water actually caused it to levitate out and onto land. Amelia was present at the time and was astounded by the event. This was how Amelia and Helen spent most of their time together: outdoors. Amelia had a garden blossoming and constantly took her daughter on hikes. The bond between mother and daughter was extremely strong; they were inseparable, with the exception of when Amelia had to work. Helen saw her mother as a hero, and thought her to be the most amazing person in existence.
Amelia was driving home from work one day when she was hit by a truck that had run a red light. She died instantly. Helen had been left with a babysitter, but was picked up from her house by a policewoman that night. It was at the police station that a social worker informed her of the death of Amelia. Being just eight years old, it took some time for Helen to fully understand what it meant to lose her mother. When she finally did comprehend it, she was meeting her father for the first time. Ariston had been listed on the birth certificate as Helen's father, and therefore he was the one to inherit custody of the child. At this time he was forced to confess to his parents what he'd done. But his wife and the rest of the magical community received an edited version of the tale: that he'd slept with a pureblood orphan living in the North. He also changed the name of his child, from Helen Astra Cole to Nox Aella Blackburne. As far as the rest of the world knew, Nox was pureblooded.
Nox never had any problems with the magical community since they all were unaware of her true blood status. She never had to flee from anywhere when Voldemort gained power; the lie her father had created kept her constantly shielded from all but him and his parents. Nox's grandparents despised the child at first, as did her father to be honest. But the girl slowly grew on them, despite their efforts to continue hating her. This was to Nox's benefit, since it made it unlikely that her family would stop sheltering her. There was however, the problem of Lilith. Ariston had married shortly after his fling with Amelia, and the wife was certainly not happy to have her husbands illegitimate child running around. She and her two daughters disliked this addition, and never grew to like her as the others did. Fortunately they are unaware of Nox's halfblood status.
While at Hogwarts, Nox was put into Ravenclaw and for good reason: she was very bright and a quick learner. With the warning from her father to never discuss the secrets of her past, Nox resigned to not talking to anyone about her history at all. She followed her father's instructions, which mainly consisted of blending in and making friends with purebloods. Nox did her job and was a good actress in the long run. She graduated with top marks, and had reluctantly learned much about the Dark Arts as a student. Ariston insisted on her learning even more, more so that she could defend herself against it if ever she was revealed and then attacked. As far as career choices, Nox decided she wanted to do something related to writing -- perhaps a journalist or author. Her father sent her to a school that focused on building creative skills, including writing, and Nox finished her course at the end of last term.
After finishing the course, Nox decided to take a bit of time to just relax before she thought about more school or a hardcore career. She picked up a very part-time waitress job at a local pub, and spends the rest of her time basically just relaxing, and has even borrowed money from her father a few times to go traveling (not too far, just enough to get a taste of different scenery). She's also keeping an ear open for any news on the activity of the Order of the Phoenix; although her father strictly forbids that she join, Nox is still considering the option. She doesn't like sitting back and doing nothing and feels like a coward for not being more of an activist. If she has her way, she'll be on the Order's team very soon.

RP SAMPLE:
The steady drone that was the voice of the History of Magic teacher carried through the classroom, though was acknowledged by no one. The bodies of the students may have been present, but their thoughts were elsewhere. Somewhere towards the back of the classroom, and young blonde-haired girl sat staring out the window of the classroom, dreamily watching the snow fall heavily outside the window. Skylar Nash was typically a very studious girl and enjoyed learning, but there were some classes even she could not pay attention in. History of Magic happened to be one of them; but she didn't consider it her fault. After all, who could pay attention to such a dull method of teaching? Usually Sky managed to take notes in this class for about the first ten minutes, but then she'd always find a way to get distracted -- she'd watch a small troop of ants crawl across the stone floor, try to decide what shapes the clouds outside were taking, or doodle some sort of intricate design on the parchment she'd been taking notes on. At this current point in time, there were no insects in site, the rain was preventing any guessing of cloud shapes, and her parchment had already been filled front and back with meaningless designs. So here she sat, quite bored, mouth slightly open, staring out the window at a view that was all white.
This went on for quite some time before the professor announced the end of class, which for some students was the only thing they'd heard from the ghostly educator. Sky shook herself from her trance and packed her bag before following the crowd of students filing out the door. A yawn escaped her mouth as she made her way down the corridor, deftly moving between the crowds of students rushing in every direction. For today Sky was done with classes, which meant her next stop would be to the dormitory so she could change. Somewhere on her trip up to the common room, she glances out a window and noticed the snow had stopped falling. With quick, eager steps she strode to the window and peered out. Yep, it was definitely not snowing anymore. A slow smile spread across her face and Sky bit her bottom lip as she turned away from the window. From then on to the common room her steps were quick and excited, and she practically ran up the steps to her dormitory. She reached her bed and tossed her bag and robes onto the unmade surface. She almost tripped over a stray shoe on the way to her trunk, and began to dig around the messy contents of said trunk, pulling out random articles of clothing and tossing them onto the bed. Once she'd collected all the pieces of a proper outfit, she changed out of her school uniform and into the new, more comfortable clothing. Sky grabbed her wand and stuffed it into her coat pocket, not taking anything else with her, then ran to the dormitory door and charged out and down the steps.
In no time Sky was bursting through the doors to the great castle and stampeding across the snow-covered lawn, a huge grin on her face as she occasionally jumped and tried to see how far she'd sink through the snow. Luckily she'd chosen rubber boots, which easily protected her from the wetness. Sky didn't give a damn if she seemed childish right now, and she knew people could easily see her gallivanting around if they just looked out the castle window. But if they didn't want to join her, that was their problem. Too many people spent too much time trying to act mature, but Sky thought those people were quite boring. She'd choose childish and fun over mature and boring any day. With the grin still spread across her face, Sky continued running until she reached a tree near the edge of the lawns, and she leaped upwards, grabbing hold of a branch and swinging herself into the tree. She expertly swung herself to land straddling the branch, which in all fairness wasn't that high. But Sky had spent a long time practicing this move, and the memories of all her failed attempts at the beginning made her grin even more. The branch was lightly covered in snow and made her jeans wet, but she didn't care, not in the least. Swinging her legs contentedly, she leaned back against the trunk of tree and stared up through the leafless branches at the dark gray clouds. The grin turned to a small, content smile as she stared, and she slipped her hands into the pockets of her jacket, sighing happily.
