VOICE: Demetri’s voice always sounds like he’s making a joke. It’s deep and melodious, like he could sing at any moment, which he will. He loves to sing, and will do so at any opportunity. He has a really good singing voice, about baritone level, though he does have a fairly wide range.
PERSONAL STYLE: Just looking at him, you’d think Demetri was either a poor pureblood or an unusually wealthy impurity. He likes to wear loose, dark-ish clothing, and baggy jeans. He hates suits of any kind, and barely can tie a tie. Unlike many purebloods, especially the teachers, Demetri doesn’t spend a lot of money on his clothes. He doesn’t do much out of the school, so he doesn’t usually dress nice. He thinks it’s a waste of time, honestly, to spend a ton of money on clothes when you could spend it on something else.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: At first glance, Demetri seems like a very serious person, especially his face. He has warm brown eyes, and messy dark brown hair. He keeps himself fairly clean shaven, since he thinks he has the kind of face where, if he doesn’t shave, he looks like he hasn’t showered in a month. He has a very angular face and a straight, Roman nose that is the fraction of a centimeter away from being too big.
Demetri has pale skin and full lips, probably from talking so much. When he’s being himself, you can tell that he most definitely is not serious. He usually has an expression on his face that says he’s teasing you, or using sarcasm. He’s extremely good at keeping a straight face, so people who don’t know him well can’t tell if he’s kidding or not. However, he does love to laugh, and will do so often.
Some people think Demetri is strange, because he has strange habits. His teaching methods, for one thing, especially with the rest of the teachers, who use less orthodox but more painful methods. The walls of his room and scrawled with random sayings and posters, so of which have to do with History of Magic, and some that don’t. If he’s going somewhere for more than a few hours, he will bring his guitar, no exceptions. He has many quirks; for example, as soon as the bell rings, he will stop teaching. It doesn’t matter if he’s in the middle of a lesson, sentence, or word, he will stop. However, he never, ever stops the lesson early. Even if he finishes the lesson planned, he’ll find something new and interesting to tell his students that might be irrelevant, but will probably end up on a test anyway. Things like that make him seem crazy.

DEMENTOR: The time he was almost fired. A really whiny pureblood student complained about him, and the Headmaster had him suspended. Luckily, most of his students signed a petition asking him to come back, so he did.

CURRENT RESIDENCE: Lives at Hogwarts during the school year, then a small flat out of school.
BIOGRAPHY: Born in Greece, Demetri moved to England when he was a small child, about 9 years old. Demetri grew up in a fairly sheltered, narrow minded house. Both of his parents were strict “pure bloods only” people, and taught him the same. He was always funny and kind hearted, though he held his parents’ values. It wasn’t that he thought purebloods were better; it was simply fact.
However, when he was 10 and his sister was born, his parents (and he himself) thought it would be best if he moved in with one of his friends, Logan. As it turned out, Logan was a half blood, and had many friends who were Muggleborn and half blood. During his year staying at his friends house, Demetri learned that purebloods were not simply better. He returned home a completely different person, at least in his thoughts about pureblood-ism. He didn’t have to move back out when Tristan was born, since he was considered old enough to be around a baby by then. He loved his sister beyond all measure, but always found his brothers to be annoying beyond all measure. They were both sorted into Slytherin, not to anybody’s surprise. Demetri taught Ari about his thoughts about blood status, and she found that she agreed with him.
However, he didn’t let his parents know any of that. He went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor, much to his happiness. He made a lot of friends because of his infectious personality, of all blood types. He excelled in History of Magic, despite the dull teacher, and loved the school. He quickly decided he wanted to be a teacher.
When he was 23, he was offered the position of History of Magic teacher, when Binns finally decided to give up teaching. He remained neutral throughout the war, and kept his job because he was pureblood. He is still neutral, having no ill feelings towards Voldemort, nor any sort of reverence. As a teacher, he was hard to hate, even for the snobby pure bloods. He made the previously dull class lively and exciting, and loved to do strange things. A lot of times involved singing and playing guitar, or some sort of war reenactment. Also, though this was controversial, he taught a bit of Muggle History, since he still thinks it’s important. He also learned how to be a disciplinarian. Nobody would dare mouth off in his class, for fear of his unusual punishments. Sometimes it’s singing in front of the class, sometimes it’s answering a pop quiz at lightning speed, and every time they get a question wrong, their grade drops a point. However, he’s had few reasons to punish students; most of them simply love him.
