Bellatrix was sure that everything was perfect. Sure it had to be, she hated when things didn't work out the way she wanted too and when that happened someone either died or lost a limb. While her husband was at Hogwarts teaching, she was actually doing something worthy of the cause. Rodolphus thought he intimidated people, sure, he did, if those people were wimps, but Bella knew that she was the most feared Death Eater out there, she had to be. She was her Lord's second in command, she was his most loyal, his most trusted. He valued her over everyone else, and that was what infuriated Rodolphus. A small smirk appeared on her face as she closed the last file of the morning, surely there would be many more by the time she returned back to work. Bellatrix prided herself on keeping her office spotless, there were no trinkets that would tear her mind from her work, the only things that littered her desk were arranged neatly. The only object that rest on her table was a gift from the Dark Lord himself, of course that valuable object was readily displayed on her desk.
Tugging her hood over her her head she stuck her wand up her sleeve, the spare wand was safely hidden elsewhere, and headed towards the door, pulling it open she stepped out of her office and closed the door behind her, she felt the wards close over her door making sure that no one else could get into her office unless they knew the exact sequence on how to undo them. Which not even the Dark Lord knew. Bellatrix made her way through the corridors, stepping through the correct rooms, she would never get lost, it was impossible for the Head of the Unspeakables to get lost in her own department. Now, she could envision Rodolphus getting lost here, oh merlin, that would be perfect. He could stumble into the brains...or the archway...and then she could be rid of him. A tragic accident. With a hum she stepped out of the Department of Mysteries, pushing past some idiot who got in her way and she didn't even look backwhen he started screaming profanities. Of course, the only way to distinguish a regular Unspeakable from the Head was the fact that the Head had a slightly different style of cloak, but these cloaks would ensure that no one knew who she was.
The cloaks were ingenious, they hid whether you were male or female, they altered your voice when you spoke, magic was a glorious thing, the hoods were only able to be pulled down by the wearer. They didn't have much else on them, just a portkey hidden inside one of the folds. Or rather, Bella's was the only one with that. The head was after all more important than anyone else. It wasn't until ten minutes later, after having to wait for the blasted elevator that she was in the Atrium. Pushing past the waiting people she stepped into the grate and called the name of the Malfoy Manor where her nephew lived. She had sent him an Owl earlier, intended to meet up with him for some lunch and it would be beneficial if they caught up. After all, Draco did teach at Hogwarts and he could tell her what her husband was up too. Of course, Bella loved to make Rodolphus' life a misery. It was just...fun.
As she landed in the grate at Malfoy Manor she brushed herself off and glanced at the clock, smirking when the clock hit noon the moment she had finished cleaning off the soot. Always on time Bella. Always. Unless she could not care less about the reason she was coming here, but this was a family visit. And family was important to her, well everyone except Sirius and Andromeda. Those two could die for all she cared and then she would laugh and enjoy the fact that they were dead. Stupid blood traitors. She snarled slightly as she thought which scared the house-elf which had appeared to take her to her nephew. “Well, come on then. I don't have all day.” she growled in a way that would remind anyone of her husband if they'd seen her. With the slight narrowing of her eyes she followed the elf towards her nephew.

LONDON CALLING YES I WAS THERE TO, AND Y'KNOW WHAT THEY SAID? SOME OFIT WAS TRUE! D
raco was always the first to complain. He was always the first to point out a defect in something, or how what he was presented with had some sort of imperfection. Draco never settled for anything less than one-hundred percent flawless. This was one of those times when he was being shown something marred, and wanted it to be taken back and fixed. The item in question was a suit, a brilliant tuxedo, which was dark navy with a navy and black striped tie. It seemed, however, that the store which had maid it, by hand mind you, screwed up the stripes on the scarf.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] I
specifically requested these stripes to be slightly lighter than the suit, and then with black stripes. Going sideways, about two inches thick. I just don't understand why you make something so simple seem so hard." He sighed, taking a breath and calming himself. The person's face, which wavered in his fireplace, seemed to be used to taking such a beating from the overgrown child that marched back and forth in his study, both disregarding the fact that he was talking to a brilliant tailor, as well as one of the most envied and respected authorities on men's fashion. Draco rubbed the bridge of his nose, before finishing up his tirade. "Take it back, fix it, then give it back when it's perfect. Am I understood? Or do you need to write this down?" The tailor sighed, shook his head, and was gone. Draco rolled his eyes before exiting the study.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] G
lancing at a clock in the hallway, he realized it was almost time for lunch. His aunt was nearly never late, and so he needed to finish getting ready so that he'd at least look presentable. He certain didn't feel as though he should be having lunch with his aunt, however, thanks to the miscreant who'd decided to ruin his day. It was probably on purpose, too. Draco knew just as well as the next person that he was not on everybody's favorites list. Most simply stayed on his good side because they were afraid of him, or more to the point the people he knew, and didn't wish to draw any negative attention. Especially not from Bellatrix Black herself.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] I
t was a casual lunch, and so he was dressed in grey slacks, and a white silk shirt, with loafers. Once he'd dressed his hair and spritzed on cologne he knew would be agreeable with the course served, Draco made his way down the stairs into the dining area. The windows were all open, allowing natural light and fresh air to pour in. The table was already set for two, though no food had been brought out. Draco liked his meals steaming hot, and it was well known that he wasn't a nice person should his meal be less than perfect. After all, he deserved perfection. When his aunt was lead around the corner, Draco had pulled out her chair for her, kicked the elf out of the way that had come to do so. idiot creature he thought, before saying "Good afternoon, Aunt Bella, May I just say that you look absoloutely stunning today?"[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

And while there was little to annoy her in the Manor, there was the fact that she had to follow this filth. Sure they cooked and cleaned and did everything but then again that is what they had been put on this planet to do. To serve the wizards, to serve the purebloods. Bellatrix's eyes darted around the hall as she walked down, she felt the eyes of the portraits staring down at her and following her but she cared not. Most of them she had never met and some she wasn't related too and some she had met, some she was actually related too and some she was sure she had met one or twice in her life. As she walked she drew up the sleeves of her corset dress having hung up her Unspeakable's cloak at the entrance. Her Dark Mark became visible and her eyes glanced at it almost lovingly for a few seconds before she forced her eyes away and dropped her arms.
She was led around the corner and she actually smiles at her nephew, her smiles were reserved for people she liked – she almost certainly rarely smiled around Rodolphus, unless he was drunk and amusing. She caught he fact that he had kicked the House-Elf away and she bit back a chuckle at the treatment of the elf. Surely that was something that he had picked up from her. Her eyes picked up on everything, she had to.She had not gotten to be Head Unspeakable by slacking off. Oh no. The fingers further away from Draco twitched slightly at the thought of all she had been through, all the pain and torture. Sure, she was a masochist, but there was a point for everyone and she had yet to reach it.
“Good afternoon, Draco. You may say anything you wish dear, but thank you, the compliment is much appreciated, merlin knows there are not any at home,” she replied smoothly, Rodolphus wouldn't know a compliment if it danced around him naked and had a sign branded on its skin. “You're looking handsome as usual dear, how are your mother and father faring?” Bellatrix was never relaxed, not even when at home alone. She was always ready for action, that is what happened when you were an Inner Circle Death Eater. Merlin forbid if anything ever happened to her.

LONDON CALLING YES I WAS THERE TO, AND Y'KNOW WHAT THEY SAID? SOME OFIT WAS TRUE! H
e smiled at his aunt, teeth as perfectly straight and pearly white as any other pureblood's. He knew just what to say to flatter the closer members of his family, and exercised the ability regularly. It was part of being an only child, and an heir at that- you got what you wanted, and learned early on how to manipulate and push around those closest to you to get whatever you wanted. It wasn't that he wanted anything really at the moment, but it didn't help to give a bit of flattery every now and then just to test the waters and see where he stood with those closest to him.
When she had sat down, he pushed in the chair slightly, as any gentlemen would do, then took his own placement at the table. The meal was being brought out by the house elves. Today he thought boneless loin of lamb in a rosemary-butter sauce would made an excellent main course. It was slowly roasted to perfection, and boneless, so there would be no struggling with it. As side dishes, there was a fresh salad from the garden as well as a baked potato, with cheese, butter and sour cream cooked into it. Bacon Bits would also be provided, as Draco preferred his potato with them. Another side that was presented would be Green beans. Draco always had a heavy lunch and light dinner, to keep up his physique. Most men didn't watch what they shoved down their throats, nor did they care what was on their plates or when they ate, but Draco had been raised to appreciate fine dining and the scheduling of meals. It was shown that eating a heavy lunch and light dinner was much better for you, so he stuck to it.
For the dessert, there was a chocolate souffle, which was accompanied by a rather expensive coffee he'd handpicked. Yes, Luncheon with his aunt today would be exquisite.
The main plate was brought out and sat down in front of them. The salad would come at the end of the meal, to help them digest, as salad was best given at the end before the dessert. He took up a fork and knife as the wine was brought out, a cup poured for both himself and his aunt, and began cutting a piece of lamb. He considered how to answer his aunt's question before doing so, chewing the tender meat slowly as to enjoy the full flavor. Swallowing, he cut off another piece while he replied. "They're doing fine, I should think. Mother recently went on vacation, hence her absence from our lunch. Father is the same as always, in and out, doing as the Dark Lord bids him."
"How have you been, Aunt Bella? It has been far too long." He asked, then added in the comment, looking up at her while chewing through another piece of lamb while he awaited her answer.

Bellatrix knew exactly how Draco's mind worked, it was the exact same way that hers did, albeit a little calmer and less bloodthirsty. That and Draco still had his sanity where as Bella had lot a lot of it to Azkaban. Still that did not bother her as much as it should have, Bella was learning to cope without much of her sanity, it came in handy at some points in her life. When she was on a raid, where the plan is to create havoc and murder, that was when her lack of sanity came into play. Of course, there were moments when planning things that she was able to use her twisted logic to make things work. Clearly everyone expected things to be thought out and planned to a tee, but Bella? Bella did not work like that. Bella's mind had never actually worked in that way, there was no doubt about that., as a child she had been different. Brought up the Black way. The right way. The damn fucking proper way. A pureblood.
She was well aware that Draco was sweet talking her, but the fact was that she took everything that people told her and held it out in front of her, to watch, to make sure what the true meaning of the words were. Now Draco was merely talking to his aunt, someone who had a lot to do with how his life went. She could make or break anyone in Hogwarts really. She could make or break anyone she wanted. Bellatrix Lestrange was well aware of who she was and just how much she could do. Dark Lord's second in command, that was a title not taken lightly. She was damn proud of this achievement. The only female to get this far up the ranks. Merlin, it was bliss. She was his most loyal and she would remain there until she died. And she would only die for him. Just for him.
Bellatrix was glad that she had not eaten dinner last night, or breakfast this morning, else she would not have been able to even manage the smallest course of the lot that Draco had ordered for lunch. Azkaban had killed her appetite and these days she ate the bare minimum before she was unable to eat a thing more. Had she tried she would end up feeling sick and eventually she would throw up. Azkaban seriously had messed up her life, for the worst and it was terrible. It was with a small shake of her head that she ignored the thoughts that had started rising to the top of her mind before she saw a plate being placed in front of her. Her fingers expertly went to the correct fork and knife and they went towards the lamb.
She brought a piece to her mouth, inwardly savouring the lamb, it really had been cooked to perfection. She had to give that much to the House-Elves, they sure did know how to cook food. And clean. That's all they did well. She smiled softly before swallowing that mouth full. Her knife and fork went to cut another piece as Draco answered her question and in the middle of his words she brought another tender piece of lamb to her mouth and chewed it slowly. She nodded to his reply, it was factual as far as she could tell, she was aware of Lucius' place in things. And of course, her dear sister's place in society. At his question she finished chewing the beans she had been eating before she smiled softly holding her fork and knife in her hands as she replied.
“Same old Draco dear, Rodolphus is being an idiot as usual, arguing with Rabastan over the slightest issues. Then again Rodolphus has it in his mind that there is something going on between Rabastan and I. The only reason I speak more to Rabastan is because he can actually hold a conversation.” she replied rolling her eyes, lifting the goblet before her she took a small sip of her wine before continuing. “Work is as busy as ever, then again when is it not.” she added with a smile. There was a lot to be said about work, but this was neither the time or place.
“Tell me, how is Hogwarts?”

LONDON CALLING YES I WAS THERE TO, AND Y'KNOW WHAT THEY SAID? SOME OFIT WAS TRUE! C
arefully slicing off another piece of lamb, Draco chewed silently. His manners were impeccable, especially at the table. Sitting straight, with his shoulders back, and elbows away from the table, you could tell he'd been under the careful eye of an etiquette coach before. Draco had once before been instructed to sing the alphabet while chewing, to ensure his food was thoroughly mashed up and would be easy to digest. Now he didn't need to sing while he chewed- he automatically knew when he had chewed thoroughly.
Draco's thoughts turned to Rodolphus when she spoke of him, thinking of his Aunt and Uncle's relationship. Such a strange way they seemed to regard each other both as complete enemies and involved lovers. They were both powerful, and together they made an excellent team, but it was a marriage not through love. Only through expectation. He had to admit, it would be quite funny if his Aunt were to have an affair with Rebastan, the brother of her husband. Now there would be scandal if he'd never known it. For the high class, scandal never ceased to exist no matter how old you grew. It was just how the elite, socialites worked.
A groan escaped his lips, eyes rolling gently as she inquired as to how Hogwarts was. Taking a larger sip of his wine than probably necessary, Draco spoke of the place he called home for some of the year. "Ugh. Don't even get me started," He mumbled, but as he always did, Draco began complaining about the school. Or, not of the school itself, but of the inhabitants. "I know the reason we need to keep the mudbloods coming to Hogwarts, to keep tabs on them and put them in their places, but it's just so ... annoying. They don't seem to understand that I look at my hunting dog and see more potential." Draco glanced at her with one of those 'it's hopeless!' looks plastered on his face.
"Aunt Bella, are you familar with the French Purebloods?" He mused, thinking back to a certain teacher who was certainly aggravating him.

Bellatrix was painfully aware of the relationship between her husband and herself, now that was something to speak about. It was quite amusing because people thought what they wanted to think. Bella and Rodolphus preferred everyone believing that their relationship was purely based on the fact that they merely lived with each other and nothing more. While they were a force to be reckoned with on the battle field they personal lives were more hushed up than people thought. Bellatrix was quite aware that they regarded each other as enemies, but that fact only made the sex and the torture all the more entertaining. Surely, someone would be able to understand that. Then again, Bellatrix received all the intimacy she required from none other than Rabastan, it would surely break Rodolphus' pride if he were to find out about the two lovers – even if Bella was aware of those whores that Rodolphus seemed to frequent. It was hard to find something that Bella knew little about when it came to her husband's life. She kept close tabs on him.
Her fingers expertly moved the knife and fork to do her bidding, barely paying attention to what was before her, she kept her eyes on her nephew of course, watching him. Her hand automatically brought a piece of lamb to her mouth, chewing it correctly, Bella may be slightly off hinged and crazy but she did have manners. It would be against everything she stood for it she were to eat like a simpleton. There was nothing she hated more than having to watch someone eat while food went...everywhere and she was glad of the fact that Narcissa had reinforced the need for good etiquette at the table during a meal. She had to give at least that to her sister, even if she did fail at other points. She would have to comment on this the next time she sat down with her sister of tea. Oh yes, that was for certain and with that she lifted her fork to pull some beans to her lips and chewed some more. Correctly, neatly, like a lady would of course.
She raised a perfect eyebrow up at the groaned which had escaped Draco's lips, such a sound seemed...out of place while at luncheon, but still she had received the meaning of the sound well and clear. Hogwarts seemed to be having a few problems. As he spoke she ate and nodded a the right places, took a long sip from her goblet to wash down the food she had already eaten before continuing on with her meal. Bella only rarely heard about Hogwarts, it was not something she put much thought into considering she had a lot of other things to get one with during her day. The Head Unspeakable could hardly put much thought into the mechanics of a school when she had the mechanics of magic itself to worry about.
She gave him a small look which merely told him that there was little she could do about it before she spoke. “If they give you trouble, the first thing I would do was send a simple Crucio at them, her words came out calmly, their intent clear in the words but there was no such thing as a simple Crucio, she knew that she would have too much fun with that spell to have ever considered teaching, or rather...enforcing rules on children, she clearly had no patience for them. “It has to be done darling, if Hogwarts is bothering you as much as it is, you should move on, your talents are not being used in their entirety dear.” she added after having taken another sip from her wine. She settled for swirling it as she spoke before taking one more sip.
Bellatrix mulled over some things briefly before she heard his question and frowned slightly at it. “Of course Draco, I am a Black, by nature. Which family is in question?” she asked, slightly curious, something which rarely happened really.
