Help me decide if my fire will burn out, Before you can breathe, Breathe into me Hailey raised her brow at him in amusement. This wasn't the first time her parents had been brought into a conversation when someone was trying to bring her down. She'd gotten over it considerably, so this jab made no effect on her. As he released her wrist she smirked. "I'm well aware of what my parents are. Who do you think took them to Azkaban?" As he walked to the sink all she could do was laugh at his disgust. He was so picky. His father wasn't even this temper-mental. "I'm glad we understand each other." she said, sarcasm in the hitch of her voice.
She lifted herself carefully onto a table and leaned on the back of her hands. "I believe, Malfoy, that my...lifestyle is no concern of yours, so stop talking down to me like I'm a fucking Potter." The sentence had started off calm enough, but it quickly grew into a snap that she was unaware of. Her life consisted of enough to keep her busy for more than a few weeks, not including the 'social events' she attended if it amused her enough. Arguing with him was not something she found appealing, though it interested her enough to the point where she would throw in a few retorts just to see his reaction. She knew that she was peaking his curiosity. Maybe she would regret peaking it in the first place, but she knew what she wanted.
Brushing her hair back, she could only laugh at his next question. Innocent to the point of being obnoxious. "My relationships are non of your concern as they will do nothing to help your personal being, Malfoy. If you're so interested in them, you can find out for yourself since you're so 'elite'. You seem to be the type to date a Halfblood or an Impure without even realizing it anyway." The biting tone that she adopted to this comment was almost icy as it came out of her mouth. It almost shocked her that she was talking to him this way, but what harm could come from it? He could curse her, of course, but to what price? And what would it prove anyway? So she just sat there, looking over her shoulder at the Malfoy, staring directly into his eyes, never breaking contact. She was not the type of person to take back what she said. Most of the time she meant it.
It was only a matter of time before he cracked considerably. He had already threatened her. Sort of. He'd commented about her parents, which wasn't an issue to her anyway, and he had begun asking about her personal life. It was like a time bomb waiting to go off. She would say something that would either irritate him, anger him, or hit his core in the exact right spot. Then he would explode and she would laugh. Hailey wasn't going to pretend she knew exactly what kind of person Draco was, she had no idea. But if he was anything like his father, there were only a few tweeks in the personality. With a tempted breath, she continued to watch him and waited for his next 'threat'.OOC; PP-ING QUITE ALRIGHT. I TEND TO LET IT SLIP MYSELF, LOVE. BESIDES, IT MAKES IT INTERESING WITH DRACO XD

now it's my time AND NOW IT'S MY TIME, MY TIME TO DREAM. DREAM OF THE SKY. MAKE BELIEVE THAT THIS PLACE ISN'T PLAGUED BY THE POISON IN ME. Draco smiled slowly at her words- they had a nice ring to them, but for all the wrong reasons. Such a funny little creature she was. It really was too bad Draco was beginning to dislike her greatly. Perhaps he would even try to be her demise someday. "You see, there are two things I hate more than anything else in this world, love" He drawled, staring her in the eye, "Traitors and Mudbloods. Seems that if I let my tongue wag to a few people, you could fall neatly into both those categories." Again, he was reminding her just who she spoke to. This wasn't some Death Eater who'd joined simply for the status or because it was nearly required for all males that were of age. This was Draco Malfoy, a man who had been born and bred for the job. A man who made it his mission to ensure his family name was both known and revered by many, if not all. He wouldn't settle for anything less when it came to the Malfoy name.
His arms crossed at his chest, eyes narrowed as he watched her. Simply an intrigue, she was. "You're no better than a Potter to me, Wood." He spat both the names out like they were dirt on his tongue, and for all he cared, they were. Draco was getting sick of her sitting here trying to convince him she was on his level. He had a saying in his family: once a blood traitor, always a blood traitor, and expect nothing good of the broods to follow. He was absolutely convinced she couldn't be any good. None whatsoever. Where had there ever been precedent for a case like this? It could only lead to trouble, and Draco wasn't fond of trouble. He'd grown used to conformity and the order it brought. She was breaking conformity, and he didn't like it. Not one bit.
"Your social matters are entirely my business. You are my subordinate, in the ranks of Death Eaters, and if I see that your actions are unfit, I'll take action as I see fit." It was true, Draco was definitely higher ranking than she was. There weren't exactly "ranks", it was more a matter of what family was in Voldemort's favor. The more the Dark Lord looked upon you with favor, the more you could do while still staying under the radar. The Malfoys were back on top now a days, now that they'd fully shown their loyalty to the Dark Lord. The Blacks were much the same, though the Blacks had always been in his favor. That was more thanks to Bellatrix Lestrange.
At her next words the Malfoy heir froze. Every little line in his face was drawn tight, his eyes swirling with hatred. How dare she speak such things from her unworthy mouth? Who did she think she was? Well, she was sadly mistaken and was about to be disillusioned. Draco gritted his teeth and snarled "How dare you!" Accusing him of dating anything less than he was? The very thought was blasphemy! Storming forward, he stopped right in front of her, leaning forward until their faces were inches apart. "Listen to me now, girl, and listen well. You will never, ever say anything along those lines to me or anybody of my stature ever again. Unless you want a quality cell right next to your parents, that is. Do you even know who I am?" He leaned back, so that they were away from each other a normal distance again. "Of course you can't realize who I am. But I'll tell you this, girl, I am a force to be reckoned with." His stare turned to shock, then amusement.
Had he finally figured out what had possessed her to speak such things?
"You want me!" He spoke the words through a laugh, turning and walking to the other side of the room. He spun on heel, leaning against the wall with his ankles crossed, his arms doing much the same across his chest. Shaking his head, Draco looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Don't be jealous, lovely, I'm sure you'll find some nice filthy husband someday ... or wait, no you won't. No Pureblood in his right mind would marry you because of your ... history," His infamous smirk creeped across his face "And of course, you can't marry anybody who would even consider it because you're a Death Eater and a Pureblood to boot. No, nobody would have any of it." And that was the end of his little speech. Draco was on a roll, but he wanted to see her reaction.
He thought he might have pinpointed her weak spots- both social life and her love life seemed to be sore points for her. Maybe he could play with her a little bit. It was a morbid fascination he had, playing with other people's minds and dragging their weaknesses from them just so he could torture them without a wand or raised hand.

Help me decide if my fire will burn out, Before you can breathe, Breathe into me Hailey rolled her eyes at him. Was that really the only thing that he could think of to insult her with? 'My name's Draco Malfoy and if you don't worship me, I'll tell on you.' Blah. There was nothing else in the world that she couldn't stand more than a conceited idiot who couldn't even kill Dumbledore. Weak in her eyes. She didn't care who he was or what he threatened, his history screamed just as loudly as hers did. The more he spoke, the more irritated she got. Were they really going to do this? Fight right now...with words? Hey, she wasn't going to back down, but it surprised her that he would do this now. Of all times. Maybe Draco Malfoy truly was an idiot. He certainly wasn't showing her a side of him that proved otherwise. People's talking were ringing true.
And...what? No better than a Potter? Now that was a low blow. Maybe it was just her, but she did believe she was better than a Potter...and uh, yeah, the Dark Lord must like her at least 0.01 percent to have let her join. Just because she wasn't raised like him, Draco was immediately calling her out and trying to tear her down. Typical. Once he spotted a threat, he attacked. Moron. Hailey laughed at his next words and shook her head. "Oh, of course, I forgot." she said sarcastically. Leave it to him to bring his ranking into a fight. She didn't quite know why he was ranting on and on about positions when they had absolutely no relation to the current argument. To be perfectly honest, he was boring her. She was seriously thinking of getting up and leaving. Why had she stuck around anyway? Oh. Yeah, the twerp on the table. That potion must have really sucked because he was still out cold. Thinking to herself, she wondered what Draco would do if Teddy was thrown onto him, blood and all.
Then...yes. It was the time bomb. Right on time, too. She didn't flinch when he came within inches of her face. Hell, she barely heard half the words that came out of his mouth. But she did smirk. She had to hold back the laugh. "Well, I do believe you are Draco Malfoy...and currently, you're showing me how much of a weak and sickening person you really are. How is it you came to be a death eater again? Oh! That's right...your father. Silly me." Hailey thought she had come back with a perfectly reasonable and calm retort, and she had. She commended herself for it. But as she watched his face change, the words that he spoke shot through her ear drums like a bullet. Her eyes went wide but were calmly and quickly replaced by a look of equal amusement. Want him? Oh yeah, that must be it.
With that, she jumped off the table. "Yes Draco, I can't wait for the day when you come to your senses and fall absolutely madly in love with me. Honestly, how desirable do you think you are? Just because you can trick women into your bed does not mean they want anything more than a shag. You've yet to realize that you're being played just as much as you're playing. And just to get things straight, I'd watch were you dip your hands, because you've been treading over infected ground for quite some time. Dated any Impures lately? You're too dense and cocky to notice. So before you criticize my love life, I suggest you do some research on your own." The words had come quickly and easily. It was like a rehearsed set of lines and she had memorized them perfectly. It surprised her to the point where she stunned herself. Though she didn't really know if he was actually dating an Impure, she wouldn't put it past him. She could only glare daggers at him and cross her arms as she stared. And she had so hoped to make friends today.OOC - sorry, this took a few days =/
