vampires
This is an overview of Vampires, to give you an idea of what they are like here on Filth. We don't have much to go on from JK Rowling, so the admin has taken ideas from Kim Harrison to help supply knowledge. If you've read the Rachel Morgen series by Kim Harrison, then you know the drill. We has also supplied some of our own ideas to make things interesting. If you disagree with anything, or wish to add something, message Spellbound and maybe a change'll be made.[/size]
feeding
A vampire needs human blood to live. So that Vampires don't hunt down random victims, a support line has been set up in the Vampiric world- you go to St. Mungos and set up an appointment, and the staff will get you a human who is willing to donate their blood. Blood is only good if fresh from the source- cold blood, or old stuff, works too, but it's not as nutritious.
covens
There are two types of Vampires in the world- rogue, and those who belong to a coven. Unless you are extremely old and powerful, going rogue is never a good choice. Covens offer protection, help, and advice; though only if you promise your undying loyalty to them. Normally a Vampire's life revolve around their coven, and they'd do anything to keep it going and alive.
aging and looks
Ageless is a good way to describe a vampire. Their faces are completely smooth and unwrinkled, and their eyes are seemingly endless pools. A vampire's age may never be guessed simply by looking at them for this fact. Their hair takes on an incredibly soft and silky, and shiny, look, and their eye teeth, of course, are elongated.
They're incredibly graceful and fast- as well as strong. Of course, not fast enough to outrun one of those fancy, new brooms in the stores these days, but they're speedy devils. They're strength is incredible, as is their durability.
sleeping
Vampires do sleep, and it is inside special coffins made by Wizards. There are certain spells and things put in the wood that lets a Vampire become completely rested, and creates a magical lock on it so only that Vampire can open and close the Coffin in most cases. Vampires can sleep in beds and things, if it is a place where no sunlight will hit them and their sensitive skin, but they won't be nearly as rested.
relationships with humans
To most Vampires, humans are considered rash creatures that have silly little fights among themselves. Some Vampires have put themselves up as sort of assasins for hire, while others stay clear of humans unless they need to feed. However, some have chosen to live alongside humans in most ways, and have even taken human lovers. It normally depends upon the Vampire, and what Coven they are affiliated with.
